The LC Valley - aka Lewiston IDAHO and Clarkston WASHINGTON share a border that is the Snake River. The cities sit at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers and share a rich history as part of the Lewis & Clark Expedition and the lore of the Nez Perce Tribe. There are many landmarks and historical sites to distract the inquisitive traveler and if you have time on either side of the National we hope you will consider the "scenic route".

As the "farthest east of the west coast ports" and the "Gateway to Hells Canyon", the deepest river gorge in North America, our host hotel sits on the banks of Granite Lake, the reservoir behind Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River, hence "Granite Lake on the Snake River. The Lewiston Levee Parkway/Greenbelt offers 16 miles of paved trail along the river, with wayside parks and beaches. Our host hotel sits at one end of this greenbelt.

On the south side of the hotel is a Super WalMart with a Subway sandwich shop.

On the west side of the hotel is a drive up coffee stand, Granite Lake Park, Basalt Cellars Winery, Riverport Brewery and Roosters Waterfront Restaurant.

On the north side of the hotel is the dock for Beamer's Hells Canyon Tours and Gateway Golf Center (509.758.4366) a beautifully landscaped 18 hole putting course and full driving range.

On the east side of the hotel is Costco and the Granite Lake RV Park.

Let's return to our host hotel for a moment to get our bearings. Bogey's is the Quality Inn's full service restaurant and their Q Lounge offers a view of the river with your favorite cocktail.

Effie's Tavern - challenge your friends to see who can finish the humongous burgers. Located at 1120 Main Street, Lewiston ID this is a small tavern with one server.
